Job description

  • Lead product design projects from research and ideation through CAD development, prototyping, validation, and industrialisation.
  • Translate consumer needs, brand strategy, and sustainability goals into innovative, functional, and manufacturable product solutions.
  • Shape and evolve the design language of Wenger and Victorinox across product categories.
  • Apply sustainability and circular design principles, including material selection, durability, repairability, resource efficiency, and end-of-life considerations.
  • Scout emerging trends, technologies, materials, and consumer insights, translating opportunities into future product concepts and innovations.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sustainability teams, ensuring stakeholder alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Evaluate and refine concepts, prototypes, and production samples, balancing performance, quality, cost, brand requirements, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, material libraries, sustainability tools, and AI-supported workflows, while mentoring junior designers, trainees, and interns.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Sustainable Design, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product design, ideally within consumer goods or lifestyle brands.
  • Experience with sustainable design, circularity, and responsible material selection.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., Rhinoceros 3D, Siemens NX) and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and product development.
  • Ability to translate brand identity, consumer insights, and sustainability goals into innovative products.
  • Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and quality-driven mindset.
  • Interest in emerging technologies, AI, and innovation methods.
  • Fluent in German and English (minimum C1 level, written and spoken).
