Trade Compliance Specialist f/m/d

Job description

  • Maintain, review, and classify product master data in the areas of Customs and Trade Compliance (e.g., customs tariff classifications, country of origin, preferential origin, and export control data)
  • Advise and support internal stakeholders on customs, export control, and trade compliance matters
  • Share responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of export control and sanctions compliance requirements
  • Participate in cross-functional customs and compliance projects
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with legal requirements and internal policies
  • Conduct training sessions and awareness initiatives to strengthen compliance culture across the organization
  • Support internal audits and external regulatory inspections
  • Develop and continuously improve policies, work instructions, and process documentation related to Trade Compliance
  • Assist in the optimization and further development of customs and trade compliance processes in collaboration with international stakeholders
  • Act as Key User for trade compliance applications and support system enhancements, testing, and implementation activities

Profile

  • Technical, logistics, or commercial vocational education/training
  • Additional qualification as a Foreign Trade Specialist, Customs Specialist, or a comparable certification is an advantage
  • Several years of professional experience in import, export, or customs-related environments
  • Experience in Trade Compliance and a strong interest in international customs and export control topics
  • Solid knowledge of rules of origin, preferential trade agreements, and supplier declarations
  • Expertise in customs classification and master data management (HS Codes, Swiss/EU/UK tariff classifications)
  • Good MS Office skills and, ideally, experience with trade compliance systems
  • Fluent German and English language skills (C1 level), both written and spoken
  • Analytical, structured, and independent working style
    Strong quality focus, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
